Basket Chat Alo Tokri Chat

 

Ingredients for basket

        

1 big size Potatoes (grated)

2 Steel strainer  (1 1/2 to 2 inch diameter wide)

Oil for frying

 

for basket filling

1cup Beans sprout  boiled (yellow peas, moong or black gram)

1 boiled potato (peeled and cut in cube) 

1 cup Yogurt 

1 tsp chilli powder

1 tsp chat masala

Salt as per taste  

1 tsp Roasted jeera powder 

 ½ cup Imli chutney  

2 tbls Green chutney

1 tsp Grated ginger

1 tsp green chilli (finally chopped)

1 tbls Green coriander (chopped) 

 

Method For potato basket

Soak the grated potatoes in cold water for 10 to 15 minutes.

Drain and wash in running water for about 5 to 7 minutes.

Wipe with dry absorbent cloth.

Divide the grated potatoes into 4 equal portions.

Place each portion of the grated potatoes on a strainer and top with a second strainer.

Heat oil in a deep pan and Deep fry Pour the hot oil on the side of the strainer with a ladle until light brown.

Remove the strainer from the oil, invert it and tap lightly to unmould the basket.

 

For serving

Arrange the potato basket in a deep dish.

Fill basket with bean sprout, boiled potato 

Pour imli chutney, sprinkle red chili powder, salt and roasted jeera.

Pour green chutney and yogurt.

Garnish with ginger, green chilly and coriander.

Sprinkle chat masala.

Serve Immediatly
